چکیده

We propose discrimination method of synthetic speech using pitch pattern of speech signal. By applying the proposed synthetic speech discrimination system as pre-process before the conventional HMM speaker verification system, we can improve the safety of conventional speaker verification system against imposture using synthetic speech. The proposed method distinguishes between synthetic speech and natural speech according to the pitch pattern which is distribution of value of normalized short-range autocorrelation function. We performed the experiment of user verification, and confirmed the validity of the proposed method. key words: speaker verification, biometrics, synthetic speech, pitch frequency

Synthetic Speech Discrimination using Pitch Pattern Statistics Derived from Image Analysis

In this paper, we extend the work by Ogihara, et al. to discriminate between human and synthetic speech using features based on pitch patterns. As previously demonstrated, significant differences in pitch patterns between human and synthetic speech can be leveraged to classify speech as being human or synthetic in origin. We propose using mean pitch stability, mean pitch stability range, and ji...

Imposture using synthetic speech against speaker verification based on spectrum and pitch

This paper describes security of speaker verification systems against imposture using synthetic speech. We propose a text-prompted speaker verification technique which utilizes pitch information in addition to spectral information, and investigate whether synthetic speech is rejected. Experimental results show that pitch information is not necessarily useful for rejection of synthetic speech, a...

A High Resolution Auditory-inspired Method for Time- Varying Spectral Analysis

Pitch discrimination experiments have demonstrated that human listeners can detect very small frequency changes in stimuli of short duration. Inspired by this ability, an algorithm for high resolution time-varying spectral analysis is proposed. Mathematical analysis, with various types of synthetic modulated signals, demonstrates that the proposed method correctly demodulates these signals. The...

Glottal excitation modeling using HMM with application to robust analysis of speech signal

This paper describes a robust analysis method for high fundamental frequency speech signal. In the proposed method, a Hidden Markov Model (HMM) is applied in order to represent the non-stationary property of the glottal source. Experiments are carried out using both synthetic and natural speeches to confirm the effectiveness of the method. Experimental results indicate (1) in the case of using ...

New analysis method for harmonic plus noise model based on time-domain periodicity score

Harmonic plus Noise Model (HNM) is the two-band speech model which assumes the speech signal to be composed of a harmonic part and a noise part. It is very important to determine the reasonable maximum voiced frequency which delimit harmonic and noise parts for highquality synthetic speech. In this paper, a new analysis method for HNM, especially maximum voiced frequency, is proposed, whereby t...
